A devastating landslide triggered by heavy rainfall struck Jangambagh village in the Chambi Gram Panchayat of Sundernagar subdivision in Mandi district on Tuesday evening, resulting in the tragic death of seven individuals. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and prompted an immediate response from the district and sub-divisional administration.<\/p>\n

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Sundernagar, Amar Negi, confirmed the fatalities and stated that rescue operations were launched swiftly upon receiving information about the incident. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were deployed to assist in the rescue efforts, equipped with necessary machinery and equipment.<\/p>\n

Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan, Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma, and other senior officials were present at the site to oversee the ongoing relief and rescue operations. The rescue teams worked tirelessly throughout the night to locate and retrieve the missing individuals.<\/p>\n

  • Shanti Devi (70)<\/strong>, wife of Shiv Chand<\/li>\n
  • Om Prakash (64)<\/strong>, son of Het Ram, resident of village Dadhyal, Tehsil Sundernagar<\/li>\n
  • Rahul (25)<\/strong>, son of Ghanshyam, resident of village Khatarwad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    SDM Amar Negi informed that all seven bodies were recovered after an all-night rescue operation. The district administration has assured that affected families will receive all necessary assistance, including relief material and financial aid.<\/p>\n

    The local administration has urged residents living in landslide-prone areas to remain cautious during this period of intense monsoon activity, as further rain is predicted in the coming days.<\/p>\n
