The Chief Minister also assured that the state government will bear all medical expenses for the injured and that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the incident.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Modi Condoles Loss, Announces Ex-Gratia<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/strong> also condoled the loss of lives and extended his support to the grieving families. In a post shared by the Prime Minister\u2019s Office (PMO India)<\/strong> on X (formerly Twitter), he said: \u201cThe mishap in Hassan, Karnataka, is heart-rending. In this tragic hour, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. I hope those who have been injured recover at the earliest. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister’s announcement includes financial assistance from the Prime Minister\u2019s National Relief Fund (PMNRF)<\/strong> \u2014 Rs. 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 for each injured person.<\/p>\n

Investigation Underway<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. Initial reports suggest a possible brake failure, but officials are awaiting a detailed forensic and mechanical report on the lorry involved.<\/p>\n

Emergency services and district administration acted swiftly, rushing the injured to nearby hospitals. Many are currently undergoing treatment in critical care units.<\/p>\n
