Heavy rainfall in Dharampur subdivision of Mandi district has caused significant destruction, with over 150 shops and numerous homes damaged or washed away due to severe waterlogging, especially in the Sonkhad area on the night of September 15. The calamity has left many families in distress, with several losing all their belongings to the floodwaters.<\/p>\n

In response to the crisis, the Himachal Pradesh BJP unit organized the distribution of relief materials to the affected families. The initiative was led by former Jal Shakti Minister Thakur Mahender Singh, along with Mandal BJP President Lekhraj and BJP leader Rajat Thakur.<\/p>\n

A total of 120 affected families<\/strong> received essential relief supplies, including blankets, wheat flour, and Amul milk<\/strong>. The distribution effort also extended support to drivers and conductors of HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation)<\/strong>, who were also impacted by the heavy rains.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the media, BJP leader Rajat Thakur highlighted the extent of the damage caused by the rains. \u201cThe sudden waterlogging in Sonkhad has devastated more than 150 shopkeepers and severely affected residents. Many have lost everything, and now have nothing left to survive on,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned that the relief materials were sent specifically to Dharampur by the state BJP unit in a dedicated vehicle, carrying the essentials. The distribution was carried out under the supervision of Thakur Mahender Singh.<\/p>\n

Rajat Thakur expressed gratitude on behalf of the affected residents to State BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal<\/strong>, former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur<\/strong>, and Member of Parliament Anurag Thakur<\/strong>, for their support and concern. He also acknowledged the generous donors who contributed to the relief effort.<\/p>\n

Thakur emphasized that the BJP would continue to support the affected families in every possible way to help them recover and rebuild their lives.<\/p>\n

This coordinated relief response highlights the pressing need for disaster preparedness in flood-prone regions like Dharampur, as well as the importance of timely support from political and community leaders in times of crisis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
