In a historic moment for Himachal Pradesh and India, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu<\/strong> has become the first-ever Chief Minister of an Indian state to address the prestigious House of Lords<\/strong> in London. His keynote address at the Indo-European Business Forum (IEBF)<\/strong> on September 22, 2025<\/strong>, was a powerful pitch to global investors, urging them to explore the vast opportunities<\/strong> emerging in Himachal Pradesh in sectors such as clean energy<\/strong>, responsible tourism<\/strong>, horticulture<\/strong>, information technology<\/strong>, and wellness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that Himachal Pradesh is not only a year-round tourist destination<\/strong> but also an emerging business hub<\/strong> with enormous potential<\/strong> in various industries. \u201cThe vision of a self-reliant Himachal Pradesh is one that is shared with the people of our state,\u201d said Sukhu. \u201cThrough systemic reforms<\/strong> \u2014 \u2018Vyavastha Parivartan se Aatmanirbhar Himachal<\/strong>\u2019 \u2014 we are building a future that blends development with sustainability, ensuring prosperity for all our citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Hub for Clean and Green Energy, IT, and Tourism<\/strong><\/h3>\n

CM Sukhu took the opportunity to highlight Himachal Pradesh\u2019s leadership role<\/strong> in hydropower<\/strong> and renewable energy<\/strong>, sectors where European expertise<\/strong> and Indian aspirations<\/strong> can create synergies<\/strong>. He outlined his government\u2019s forward-looking policies<\/strong> aimed at driving the state\u2019s growth in clean and green energy<\/strong>, responsible tourism<\/strong>, horticulture<\/strong>, IT<\/strong>, and food processing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister also spoke about the state’s strong agricultural base<\/strong>, including the globally recognized Himachal apples<\/strong>, which have now been joined by other high-value crops such as organic vegetables<\/strong>, floriculture<\/strong>, and dairy-based initiatives<\/strong>.
