The President of the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) UK, Kamal Dhaliwal<\/strong>, along with Vice President Gurminder Randhawa<\/strong> and a delegation of IOC UK members, met Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu<\/strong> in London yesterday evening. The high-level courtesy call served as a platform for dialogue on developmental policies, overseas engagement, and environmental challenges.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted the transformative initiatives undertaken by the current Himachal Pradesh government in sectors such as healthcare, education, tourism, and environmental conservation<\/strong>. He proudly noted that, owing to strategic and focused reforms, the state has climbed from 21st to 5th rank in quality education<\/strong> across India.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister also drew attention to the growing impact of climate change<\/strong> on the Himalayan state, stressing the government\u2019s proactive measures to address these challenges. \u201cDespite limited resources, our government is committed to providing comprehensive assistance to disaster-affected families<\/strong>, leveraging all possible means,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Applauding the state\u2019s progressive agenda, IOC UK President Kamal Dhaliwal<\/strong> praised the Himachal Pradesh government\u2019s commitment to sustainable development<\/strong>, stating that such a forward-looking model sets a precedent for other Indian states. \u201cThis vision of inclusive growth and climate responsibility is commendable and aligns well with global sustainability goals,\u201d Dhaliwal remarked.<\/p>\n

The meeting also saw the presence of MLA Dehra and the Chief Minister\u2019s wife, Kamlesh Thakur<\/strong>, along with General Secretary IOC UK Vikram Duhan<\/strong>, and IOC UK members Sandeep Soni, Mohammed Khaleelullah, Yash Solanki, Rupinder Gill<\/strong>, and Pammi Cheema<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
