In a significant political move ahead of the upcoming elections, the Congress party today launched its district-level signature campaign titled \u2018Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod\u2019<\/em> in Mandi. The campaign aims to raise public awareness about alleged vote tampering during previous Lok Sabha and state assembly elections.<\/p>\n

The campaign was officially launched in the presence of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Vidit Chaudhary<\/strong>, Dharampur MLA Chander Shekhar<\/strong>, former ministers Rangila Ram Rao<\/strong> and Prakash Chaudhary<\/strong>, and former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sohan Lal Thakur<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A large number of Congress leaders and workers were present at the launch event, including Champa Thakur<\/strong>, Joginder Guleria<\/strong>, Jiwan Thakur<\/strong>, Jagdish Reddy<\/strong>, Chander Shekhar Sharma<\/strong>, Harinder Sen<\/strong>, Shashi Sharma<\/strong>, Rajender Mohan<\/strong>, Anil Sen<\/strong>, and several others.<\/p>\n

Addressing the media at the event, MLA Chander Shekhar<\/strong> explained that the campaign is being carried out on the directions of the Congress high command, following serious concerns raised by senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi<\/strong> over reported incidents of vote theft, which, according to the party, negatively impacted its performance in previous elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur main goal with this campaign is to awaken voters at the grassroots level and to ensure that future elections are conducted in a free and fair manner,\u201d Chander Shekhar stated. He further informed that the party has set a target of collecting 20,000 signatures from Mandi district alone<\/strong>, which will be submitted to the party\u2019s state leadership in Shimla on October 12<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Chander Shekhar also called upon all local Congress leaders and workers to actively participate in the campaign and ensure its success in their respective areas.<\/p>\n
