The Chiefs and Vice-Chiefs of Army Staff<\/strong> from countries contributing troops to United Nations peacekeeping missions called on President of India, Droupadi Murmu<\/strong>, at Rashtrapati Bhavan<\/strong> today during the ongoing Army Chiefs\u2019 Conclave for UN Troop Contributing Countries<\/strong>. The dignitaries were accompanied by their spouses.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

During her address, President Murmu<\/strong> praised the attending military leaders as \u201cproud representatives of the best values and ethos of their respective nations,\u201d acknowledging the rich experience and shared resolve for sustainable peace and global prosperity<\/strong> they bring to the table.<\/p>\n

\u201cTogether as Custodians of Peace\u201d<\/h3>\n

In a moving appeal, President Murmu emphasized the role of collective global leadership in conflict resolution and peace-building:<\/p>\n

\u201cTogether as custodians of peace, we should enable a world where every child sleeps in safety<\/strong>, every community thrives in harmony<\/strong>, and conflicts are relegated to the pages of history<\/strong>,\u201d she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She applauded the courage and compassion of UN Peacekeepers<\/strong>, who have served in 71 missions worldwide<\/strong>, often under difficult and dangerous circumstances, bringing relief to the most vulnerable populations, especially women, children, and the elderly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

India\u2019s Leadership in UN Peacekeeping<\/h3>\n

Highlighting India\u2019s longstanding commitment, the President reaffirmed that India, as the world\u2019s largest democracy<\/strong>, has always stood for multilateralism and the principles of the United Nations Charter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndia is proud to be a steadfast contributor<\/strong> to UN peacekeeping since its inception. Our peacekeepers have served with distinction in some of the most challenging operations globally<\/strong>,\u201d she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

President Murmu also highlighted India\u2019s strides in gender inclusion<\/strong>, noting that women peacekeepers<\/strong> have played a transformative role in empowering local communities and fostering trust<\/strong>, setting a powerful example for global forces.<\/p>\n

Strengthening the Voice of Troop Contributing Nations<\/h3>\n

President Murmu called for the development of frameworks that amplify the voice of troop-contributing countries<\/strong> in peacekeeping operations. She stressed the importance of active engagement with local stakeholders<\/strong> to ensure peace efforts are community-led and sustainable<\/strong>, rather than imposed.<\/p>\n
