A Motivational Session\u201d was successfully organized at Vallabh Government College, Mandi. The program was presided over by the Principal, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar. In his inaugural address, he stated that the Constitution of India is the foundation of our democratic values, and to achieve higher ideals in life, discipline and patience are essential.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Simran Singh, recently selected as a Civil Judge in the Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services, participated as the Chief Guest. Principal Dr. Sanjeev Kumar honoured her by presenting a memento.<\/p>\n

In her inspirational address, Civil Judge Simran Singh said that the Constitution plays a paramount role in safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country. Justice, constitutional values, and citizens\u2019 rights and duties define the direction of human life. She emphasized that women can play a significant role in courts, constitutional bodies, and the legal field as judges, advocates, and law officers. It is important to make the general public and women aware of their fundamental rights and duties.<\/p>\n

She highlighted that the law has empowered women on two principal fronts\u2014first, through legislation ensuring their rights and safety, and second, through their growing participation in the justice system. The Constitution grants women equality, dignity, and special constitutional protection. Laws such as the Dowry Prohibition Act, the Domestic Violence Act, the Sexual Harassment Prevention Act, and the Maternity Benefit Act have strengthened social, marital, and workplace security.<\/p>\n

Civil Judge Simran Singh further said that although women are increasingly active in the judiciary, advocacy, and policy-making, their presence in these fields needs to grow further. These efforts have enhanced women\u2019s access to education, property rights, justice, workplace safety, and decision-making power. Yet challenges like social prejudice, lack of awareness, and implementation gaps still persist.<\/p>\n

Sharing her personal experiences with the students, she said that patience, discipline, and consistent effort are necessary to achieve goals. She credited her success to the support of her parents and mentors.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Flight Commander and Associate NCC Officer of the NCC Air Wing, Mandi, Flying Officer Dr. Chaman Lal Kranti Singh, stated that Simran Singh is the first Civil Judge from the Chuhar Valley (Padhar) of Mandi district and is an inspiration for the youth. He encouraged young people to dream big and develop discipline, time management, mental and physical strength, and strong resolve to fulfill those dreams. He said that students pursuing legal studies can become Commissioned Officers in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Branch of the Indian Army. Besides this, they can build excellent careers as judges, law officers, legal advisors, and in legal journalism.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the program, Girls\u2019 Hostel Warden Dr. Banita Saklani presented the vote of thanks. She remarked that the growing participation of women in the legal field is a significant step toward empowerment.<\/p>\n

The seminar was attended by senior professor Dr. Ravindra Kumar, NCC Air Wing Flight Commander Flying Officer Dr. Chaman, State President of the Himachal Government College Teachers\u2019 Association Dr. Banita Saklani, Simran Singh\u2019s mother Mrs. Dhooma Devi, her brother Aman Singh, NCC cadets from the Air and Army Wings, girl students from the college hostel, and hundreds of college students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
