In alignment with the Government of India\u2019s Special Campaign 5.0<\/em>, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL)<\/strong>, a Singrauli-based subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has emerged as a frontrunner in promoting environmental sustainability, cleanliness, and administrative efficiency.<\/p>\n

Responding to the clarion call of the Prime Minister<\/strong> and under the guidance of the Ministry of Coal<\/strong>, NCL is undertaking wide-ranging initiatives focused on scrap disposal<\/strong>, record management<\/strong>, and cleanliness drives<\/strong> across its operational areas.<\/p>\n

\u2018Waste to Beauty\u2019 \u2013 Sculptures from Scrap<\/h3>\n

A highlight of NCL\u2019s campaign is the creation of innovative art installations<\/strong> crafted from iron scrap<\/strong> generated during mining operations. As part of its “Waste to Beauty” vision, sculptures of India\u2019s national bird \u2013 the Peacock<\/strong>, and the Barasingha (swamp deer)<\/strong> are being installed, creatively showcasing the potential of repurposed industrial waste.<\/p>\n

These sculptures symbolize NCL\u2019s commitment to environmental stewardship, creativity, and sustainable innovation<\/strong>, reflecting how waste materials can be transformed into meaningful public art that educates and inspires.<\/p>\n

Bio-Toilets for Sanitation and Sustainability<\/h3>\n

Further reinforcing its green initiatives, NCL has installed five bio-toilets<\/strong> across its project sites. These eco-friendly sanitation facilities not only cater to the workforce and local communities but also promote the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The bio-toilets are designed to have a minimal environmental footprint<\/strong>, ensuring hygienic waste disposal without harming the surrounding ecosystem.<\/p>\n

In a bid to instill environmental awareness among younger generations, NCL organized a \u201cWaste to Art\u201d competition<\/strong> at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Singrauli<\/strong>, on October 17<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

  • Sanitation coverage across 85,000 sq. ft.<\/strong><\/li>\n

  • Examination of over 9,000 e-files<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
