The executive committee meeting of the Rajput Mahasabha Himachal Pradesh<\/strong> was held on Saturday at Adventure Resort, Kufri<\/em>, under the chairmanship of State President Er. K.S. Jamwal<\/strong>. The gathering was organized by the Rajput Local Sabha, Shimla, and attended by top office-bearers from various Rajput organizations across the state, senior members of the state executive, and active members of the host unit.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, participants expressed deep concern<\/em> over what they described as the neglect of Rajput and General Category communities<\/strong> by the central and state governments in the name of appeasement of certain castes. The house unanimously resolved to intensify the ongoing joint struggle of the Rajput Mahasabha and General Category United Forum. A special state-wide awareness campaign\u2014extending down to the panchayat level\u2014will be launched to ensure membership from every household of the community.<\/p>\n

Key Demands and Concerns Raised<\/strong><\/h3>\n

State President Er. K.S. Jamwal highlighted that although the Himachal Pradesh government has established the \u201cRajput Welfare Board\u201d<\/strong> on 23 August 2025, as assured earlier by the Chief Minister, the nomination of key district and regional representatives<\/em> recommended by the Mahasabha is still pending. He urged the government to complete these appointments without delay.<\/p>\n

He further stated that the Chief Minister, in a meeting held on 28 June 2025, had assured sympathetic action on other major issues faced by the community and had directed concerned departments to submit reports. However, according to Jamwal, the administration has not taken concrete steps<\/em>, causing growing resentment\u2014especially among the youth.<\/p>\n

Major Issues Highlighted by the Mahasabha<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Reconstitution of the General Category Commission<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Reservation based strictly on economic criteria<\/strong> and exclusion of economically advanced SC\/ST families (creamy layer)<\/li>\n
  3. Stopping indiscriminate financial allocations<\/strong> under the SC\/ST Atrocities Act<\/li>\n
  4. Ending large incentive schemes for inter-caste marriages<\/strong> involving SC\/ST categories<\/li>\n
  5. Eliminating caste-based discrimination<\/strong> in school uniforms, scholarships, and other student benefits<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Condemnation of Hamirpur Incident<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    The executive committee strongly condemned the recent murder of a Rajput woman in Sasan village, Hamirpur<\/strong>, allegedly by a man belonging to another caste. The members urged the government to provide the victim\u2019s family with compensation equivalent to that granted under the SC\/ST Atrocities Act and demanded the strictest punishment<\/strong> for the accused.<\/p>\n

    The meeting was addressed by several prominent leaders, including Dr. Ashok Saryal (Retd. Vice Chancellor and Senior Vice President), Dr. Amar Singh Guleria, General Secretary Vijay Chandel, Shimla Rajput Sabha President Baldev Thakur, and Advocate Pankaj Chauhan<\/strong>. They expressed concern over what they called the consistent disregard for the fundamental rights of the Rajput and General Category communities. They emphasized the need to mobilize youth and women\u2019s wings to strengthen the ongoing movement.<\/p>\n
