Shimla:<\/em><\/p>\n

In a significant development for disaster-stricken Mandi district, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh<\/strong> announced that the Central Government has approved Rs. 137.40 crore<\/strong> under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF)<\/em> for the upgradation and reconstruction of a Mandi-Gagal-Chailchowk-Janjehli\u00a0 damaged road in the Seraj region.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the devastation caused by the recent calamity in Mandi, the minister recalled the distress witnessed across the district. He shared that during his visit to Thunag<\/strong>, he personally inspected severely damaged roads and infrastructure. \u201cDuring that difficult time, the only thought in my mind was that this was not the moment for politics, but for service and collective effort,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Singh emphasized that he chose to rise above political boundaries to ensure timely relief for the people. He also stated that he met Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur<\/strong> during his visit, and discussed the gravity of the situation with him. \u201cWe shared the pain of the affected region and agreed that restoring connectivity must be a priority,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The minister affirmed that the matter was taken up strongly with the Central Government, following which the substantial CRIF approval was received. He described the sanctioned amount not just as a fund for road construction, but as \u201ca foundation of restoration and renewed hope for the people of the region.\u201d<\/p>\n

Highlighting the importance of unity in times of crisis, Singh said that the reconstruction effort will be carried forward with collective determination and a spirit of selfless service. He assured that the upgraded road will significantly improve movement, support local livelihoods, and boost recovery in the affected areas.<\/p>\n
