{"id":7919,"date":"2025-12-03T07:03:10","date_gmt":"2025-12-03T07:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theeaglenews.co.in\/?p=7919"},"modified":"2025-12-03T07:03:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T07:03:10","slug":"cbi-court-sentences-former-sail-agm-to-three-years-imprisonment-in-disproportionate-assets-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theeaglenews.co.in\/?p=7919","title":{"rendered":"CBI Court Sentences Former SAIL AGM to Three Years Imprisonment in Disproportionate Assets Case.\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><h1><strong>CBI Court Sentences Former SAIL AGM to Three Years Imprisonment in Disproportionate Assets Case.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Visakhapatnam:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A CBI court in Visakhapatnam today convicted <strong>Ragam Kishore<\/strong>, former Assistant General Manager of the <strong>Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL)<\/strong>, sentencing him to <strong>three years imprisonment<\/strong> and imposing a <strong>fine of Rs. 1 lakh<\/strong> in a long-pending <strong>disproportionate assets (DA) case<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Kishore, who served in various capacities including Regional Manager, Branch Transport &amp; Shipping, SAIL, Visakhapatnam, was charged with possessing assets vastly disproportionate to his known sources of income during the period <strong>January 1, 1988 to April 19, 2000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CBI, Kishore accumulated <strong>movable and immovable assets worth Rs. 60,25,825.65<\/strong> in his name and in the names of his family members\u2014assets he allegedly failed to account for satisfactorily.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>CBI registered the case on 17 July 2001<\/strong>, and after completing a detailed investigation, filed the <strong>chargesheet on 5 August 2003<\/strong>. The case proceeded through an extended trial phase, ultimately resulting in today\u2019s conviction.<\/p>\n<p>The court, after examining the evidence presented by the prosecution, held Kishore guilty under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and awarded the sentence accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>The conviction marks a significant development in a case that has spanned more than two decades, reinforcing the CBI\u2019s stance on pursuing corruption cases involving public servants to their logical conclusion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CBI Court Sentences Former SAIL AGM to Three Years Imprisonment in Disproportionate Assets Case.\u00a0 .
