Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, during the Jan Sankalp Sammelan held in Mandi today, disbursed Re. 14.17 crore<\/strong>\u00a0as financial assistance to beneficiaries of various schemes under the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. A total of 3,835 workers<\/strong> received benefits aimed at improving their social security, education, healthcare, and livelihood support.<\/p>\n

Major Allocations Across Multiple Welfare Schemes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

CM Single Window and Divyang Housing Scheme<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Rs. 19 lakh<\/strong> was released to 19 beneficiaries<\/strong> to support housing and accessibility needs of workers and differently abled individuals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Death and Funeral Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Rs. 1.50 crore<\/strong> was provided to 117 families<\/strong> as relief to dependents of workers who passed away, ensuring dignified funeral arrangements and financial support in times of distress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Education Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • The largest share of funds\u2014Rs.9.28 crore<\/strong>\u2014was granted to 3,040 beneficiaries<\/strong> to support the education of workers\u2019 children, reinforcing the government\u2019s commitment to promoting educational advancement among labour families.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Marriage Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Rs. 3.01 crore<\/strong> was disbursed to 600 beneficiaries<\/strong> to ease the financial burden of marriage ceremonies in economically weaker households.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Maternity and Paternity Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • Rs. 1.73 lakh<\/strong> was extended to 10 beneficiaries<\/strong>, supporting worker families during childbirth and early childcare.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Support for Special Children<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            • Rs. 1.80 lakh<\/strong> was given to nine mentally challenged special children<\/strong>, aimed at improving their care, well-being and access to essential support facilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana<\/strong><\/p>\n

                \n
              • Rs. 10.42 lakh<\/strong> was provided to 10 beneficiaries<\/strong> to support housing construction and improvement for economically vulnerable workers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Medical Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n

                • Additionally, Rs. 3.53 lakh<\/strong> was released to 30 beneficiaries<\/strong> to cover urgent medical expenses and treatment support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Government\u2019s Commitment to Worker Welfare<\/strong><\/h3>\n

                  CM Sukhu reiterated that the state government remains committed to ensuring welfare, dignity, and financial security for construction workers\u2014one of the most vulnerable segments of the labour force. He emphasized that timely and direct financial assistance helps improve the quality of life of workers and their families while promoting inclusive development across the state.<\/p>\n
