Red Fort Blast Case: Delhi Court Sends Ninth Accused Yasir Ahmad Dar to NIA Custody Till December 26.<\/h1>\n

A Delhi court on Thursday remanded Yasir Ahmad Dar, the ninth accused arrested in connection with the Red Fort blast case, to the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) till December 26. The order was passed by Special Judge Prashant Sharma after allowing the NIA\u2019s plea seeking custodial interrogation of the accused.<\/p>\n

Dar was produced before the Patiala House District Court at around 2.30 pm amid tight security arrangements. Media personnel were not permitted to cover the court proceedings.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, the NIA arrested Dar, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, describing him as a close associate of suicide bomber Umar-un-Nabi, who carried out the deadly attack. According to the agency, Dar played an active role in the conspiracy behind the blast that occurred near the Red Fort on November 10, claiming the lives of 15 people and injuring several others.<\/p>\n

The NIA alleged that Dar was an active participant in the terror plot and had taken an oath to carry out self-sacrificial operations. Investigators further stated that he was in regular contact with other accused in the case, including Umar-un-Nabi and Mufti Irfan, and was deeply involved in the planning and execution of the attack.<\/p>\n

With Dar\u2019s arrest, the total number of accused apprehended in the case has risen to nine. Earlier, the NIA had arrested eight individuals, including four doctors \u2014 Dr Muzammil Ganaie, Dr Adeel Rather, Dr Shaheen Sayeed and Dr Bilal Naseer Malla \u2014 along with religious preacher Maulvi Irfan. Two other accused, Amir Rashid Ali and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, were also taken into custody.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, Amir Rashid Ali had allegedly purchased the i20 car in his name, which was later loaded with explosives, including ammonium nitrate, and detonated near the Red Fort. Umar-un-Nabi was driving the explosive-laden vehicle at the time of the blast.<\/p>\n

On November 26, the NIA also arrested Soyab, a resident of Dhauj in Faridabad, for allegedly providing logistical support to Umar-un-Nabi prior to the attack.<\/p>\n

The NIA continues to probe the wider conspiracy behind the blast, examining the roles of all accused and their links to terror networks, while further arrests have not been ruled out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
