Speaking at a state-level healthcare event, the Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives designed to make advanced medical facilities accessible to all citizens of Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p>One of the flagship measures announced is the launch of dedicated <strong>Senior Citizen OPDs<\/strong>, which provide specialized consultation slots for citizens above the age of 70. These clinics, now operational across major hospitals, are expected to eliminate long waiting hours for the elderly and ensure prompt medical attention.<\/p>\n<p>In a significant boost to specialized medical care, the government allocated <strong>Rs. 5 crore each<\/strong> to five premier medical institutions \u2013 <strong>IGMC Shimla<\/strong>, and medical colleges in <strong>Tanda, Hamirpur, Ner Chowk, and AIMSS Chamiyana<\/strong> \u2013 to establish dedicated <strong>Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) infrastructure<\/strong>. Additionally, <strong>Rs. 75 crore<\/strong> has been sanctioned for <strong>AI-equipped smart laboratories<\/strong> at IGMC and Tanda, which will streamline diagnostics and drastically reduce patient wait times through automation.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the healthcare needs of younger patients, the government has initiated the <strong>Advanced Pediatric Centre at AIMSS Chamiyana<\/strong>, aimed at delivering world-class child healthcare services within the state. Highlighting the state\u2019s proactive public health measures, the Chief Minister also noted the <strong>successful execution of a massive Pulse Polio Campaign<\/strong> starting December 21, including intensive door-to-door \u201cmop-up\u201d operations to ensure 100% immunization coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized that the <strong>Rs. 3,000 crore investment in health services<\/strong> is designed to ensure that citizens no longer need to travel outside Himachal Pradesh for advanced medical procedures. A historic milestone was also marked with the <strong>operationalization of robotic surgeries<\/strong> at AIMSS Chamiyana and Tanda Medical College \u2013 a first for the state\u2019s public health sector. Plans are already underway to expand robotic surgical facilities to all medical colleges across the state by early 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese updates are part of a broader strategy to make Himachal Pradesh a hub for medical excellence,\u201d the Chief Minister said, emphasizing that the government\u2019s vision is to provide <strong>dignified, high-quality treatment to every citizen<\/strong>, from remote mountain villages to urban centers.
