\u201cPositive thinking and sustained efforts always lead to positive results.\u201d Reiterating this, Himachal Pradesh Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that his meeting with Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan has resulted in a major achievement for the state\u2019s rural road infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The PWD Minister informed that during the meeting he formally placed a demand for approval and financial assistance of Rs. 2,300 crore<\/strong> under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-IV)<\/strong> for the construction and metalling of nearly 1,500 kilometres of rural roads<\/strong> in Himachal Pradesh. The Union Rural Development Minister agreed to the proposal and assured its early approval, which is expected to significantly strengthen the rural road network and greatly improve connectivity in remote areas of the state.<\/p>\n

Special Provision for Dodra Kwar<\/h3>\n

Vikramaditya Singh said that special attention was drawn to Dodra Kwar<\/strong>, one of the most remote and difficult regions located in Rohru subdivision of Shimla district. The area has long awaited improved road connectivity and often remains cut off for several months during winter.
\nShowing special sensitivity to the issue, the Union Minister agreed to provide relaxation in the budget period and expenditure norms under PMGSY-I<\/strong>, enabling the timely completion of long-pending road works in such far-flung areas. This decision is expected to accelerate stalled projects and provide reliable road access to the region.<\/p>\n

Major Gains for Himachal Pradesh<\/h3>\n

The approval under PMGSY-IV will expedite works related to upgradation, widening and metalling of rural roads<\/strong> across the state. This will ensure safer, all-weather road connectivity for farmers, students, workers and the general public.
\nThe PWD Minister said that this new phase of PMGSY will not only strengthen rural infrastructure but will also give a fresh impetus to overall development, tourism expansion and the local economy<\/strong> of Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n

Vikramaditya Singh expressed gratitude to the Union government and reaffirmed the state government\u2019s commitment to improving road connectivity in every remote and rural part of Himachal Pradesh, stating that the positive impact of these decisions will soon be visible on the ground.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
