New Delhi \/ Madhya Pradesh:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a significant breakthrough towards the national goal of a \u201cNasha Mukt Bharat,\u201d the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Madhya Pradesh Unit, has busted a clandestine MD (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine) manufacturing laboratory and seized a record 31.250 kilograms of MD powder. The major enforcement action was carried out following specific and credible intelligence inputs.<\/p>\n

Acting swiftly on the information received, a coordinated team of CBN officers conducted a strategic raid at Teerth Nursery and Farms in Village Amla Agar. During the operation, three individuals were detained from a double-storeyed farmhouse situated in a secluded location nearly 3.5 kilometers away from the main road, suggesting a deliberate attempt to conceal illegal drug manufacturing activities.<\/p>\n

A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of 31.250 kilograms of MD powder from a bag found inside the house. During sustained interrogation, the detained individuals admitted that the seized psychotropic substance had been clandestinely manufactured by them. They further revealed that a fully operational illicit drug manufacturing laboratory had been set up inside one of the rooms within the nursery premises.<\/p>\n

Following this disclosure, CBN officers recovered several utensils, halogen bulbs, and specialized machinery used in the synthesis of MD powder. Additionally, a Mahindra Bolero Pickup vehicle parked near the entrance of the premises was searched, leading to the seizure of approximately 600 kilograms of various chemicals used in the manufacture of MD powder. All recovered substances, equipment, and materials were seized under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The vehicle used for trafficking the psychotropic substance was also seized.<\/p>\n

Further interrogation revealed that two of the arrested individuals were directly involved in large-scale manufacturing of MD powder. They disclosed that, barring one essential precursor chemical, they had sufficient raw materials to manufacture an additional 250 to 300 kilograms of MD powder. This revelation underscored the serious threat posed by the illegal operation to public health and national security.<\/p>\n

All three accused have been formally arrested under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway to identify and dismantle the entire drug manufacturing and trafficking network, including its financiers, suppliers, and distribution channels.<\/p>\n

The Central Bureau of Narcotics has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to combating drug trafficking and illicit drug manufacturing.
