Education Minister and Vice-President of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Rohit Thakur, today chaired the State Council meeting of Bharat Scouts and Guides at the State Training Centre located in Rewalsar.<\/p>\n

Addressing the meeting, Rohit Thakur said that Bharat Scouts and Guides is not merely an organization but a continuous stream of values and service. He appreciated the role of the institution in Himachal Pradesh, stating that it has been doing commendable work for the holistic development of children. He noted that scouting activities strengthen the physical and mental health of children, enhance their intellectual and social skills, and most importantly, contribute to their spiritual development, thereby shaping them into responsible citizens at the local, national, and international levels.<\/p>\n

The Education Minister said that the State Training Centre situated at the Triveni religious site of Rewalsar has now been developed as a \u201cstate-of-the-art\u201d institution. He informed that necessary steps are being taken to further strengthen the basic infrastructure of the centre. He added that an amount exceeding Rs 2.50 crore has already been spent on renovation and other construction works at the training centre.<\/p>\n

Rohit Thakur also assured that the state government would sympathetically consider an appropriate increase in the grant-in-aid provided to Bharat Scouts and Guides, so that the organization\u2019s activities can continue smoothly without any hindrance.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the proceedings of the recently held Executive Committee meetings were confirmed. The State Council also approved the annual reports recommended by the Executive Committee and the annual action plan for the year 2026\u201327. It was informed that as part of scouting activities, 43 camps will be organized across the state from April onwards for the overall development of children. Discussions were also held on starting solar energy facilities and a Scout Shop at the State Training Centre.<\/p>\n

The meeting further approved the minutes and reports of the State Council, infrastructure-related approvals, and the annual audit reports from April 2019 to March 2025.<\/p>\n

Director of Higher Education and State Chief Commissioner, Dr. Amarjeet Sharma, welcomed the participants and presented a detailed overview of the various activities of Bharat Scouts and Guides in the state. He informed that around 45,000 children are currently registered with Bharat Scouts and Guides in Himachal Pradesh, and efforts are being made to increase this number to one lakh.<\/p>\n

State Secretary Dr. Rajkumar conducted the proceedings of the meeting. On the occasion, a video presentation showcasing the diverse activities of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Himachal Pradesh, was also screened. Members of the State Council were present in the meeting.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Education Minister met local public representatives and party workers in Rewalsar, listened to their grievances, and assured them of necessary steps for their redressal. Former minister Prakash Chaudhary, Congress District President Champa Thakur, and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
