Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, Apoorv Devgan, has announced that a Saras Mela will be organized from February 16 to February 25 at the rooftop of Indira Market in Mandi during the celebrations of the International Shivratri Festival.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Commissioner informed that the fair will witness participation from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and artisans not only from across Himachal Pradesh but also from nearly 16 states across the country. The event aims to showcase a diverse range of traditional crafts, handloom items, and processed food products, providing a vibrant platform for rural entrepreneurs and local producers.<\/p>\n

He further stated that SHG participants from all districts of Himachal Pradesh, as well as from every development block of Mandi district, are enthusiastically taking part in the event. Around 90 to 95 stalls have been set up for the fair, out of which 15 stalls have been specifically allotted for local delicacies. In addition, one special stall has been allocated to a Self-Help Group comprising specially-abled individuals, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities.<\/p>\n

Devgan highlighted that handicrafts, handloom products, and food processing items will be the major attractions of the Saras Mela. He described the initiative as a significant step toward strengthening Self-Help Groups, encouraging local entrepreneurship, and promoting indigenous products.<\/p>\n

Appealing to the public, the Deputy Commissioner urged residents and visitors to attend the Saras Mela in large numbers and support the participating Self-Help Groups by purchasing their products, thereby boosting their morale and livelihoods.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
