Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed the Education Department to retain lien in the parent cadre for teachers selected to serve in CBSE-affiliated government schools, ensuring that their promotional avenues remain protected.<\/p>\n

Presiding over a high-level meeting of the Education Department, the Chief Minister emphasized that teachers opting for CBSE schools should not face any disadvantage in career progression. He said the decision aims to boost confidence among educators and encourage experienced teachers to contribute to the newly affiliated institutions without apprehension regarding their service benefits.<\/p>\n

140 Schools to Be Affiliated with CBSE<\/h4>\n

The Chief Minister instructed officials to expedite the affiliation process of government schools with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). He informed that 140 government schools will be affiliated with CBSE from the next academic session.<\/p>\n

In the first phase, 99 schools have already secured CBSE affiliation, while the process for the remaining schools is underway.<\/p>\n

Relaxation in Service Conditions for Principals<\/h4>\n

In a move aimed at ensuring effective leadership in the CBSE-affiliated schools, Sukhu directed the relaxation of the existing service condition for appointment of Principals. The mandatory requirement of three years of remaining service has now been reduced to two years, enabling more eligible officers to take up leadership roles.<\/p>\n

He further stated that the CBSE-affiliated government schools will feature a distinct logo and uniform colour scheme to create a unique identity.<\/p>\n

Focus on Quality Education<\/strong> and Infrastructure<\/h4>\n

Reiterating the State Government\u2019s commitment to strengthening the education sector, the Chief Minister said he would personally monitor the progress of academic standards in these institutions. He assured that adequate funds would be provided to enhance infrastructure and ensure quality education in the CBSE schools.<\/p>\n

\u2018No Mobile Phone Policy\u2019 from March 1<\/h4>\n

The Chief Minister also reviewed the implementation of the \u2018No Mobile Phone Policy\u2019 in schools, which is set to come into effect from March 1 this year. He directed the department to complete all necessary formalities within the stipulated timeframe to ensure smooth enforcement of the policy.<\/p>\n

Secretary Education Rakesh Kanwar, Director of School Education Ashish Kohli, State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Rajesh Sharma, along with other senior officers of the Education Department, were present during the meeting.<\/p>\n
