On the occasion, she also felicitated six senior Vaidyas for their significant contributions to AYUSH healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the gathering, the President said that in India\u2019s tradition, overall health is regarded as the greatest happiness and forms the foundation of a strong nation. She noted that healthy citizens play a crucial role in national development and emphasized that AYUSH systems of medicine have made an invaluable contribution to public health over the years. Systems such as Yoga, Ayurveda, and Siddha, she said, have been serving people since the early phases of modern medical practice.<\/p>\n<p>The President highlighted the country\u2019s rich natural heritage, stating that farms, kitchens, and forests contain a vast treasure of medicinal plants and health-protecting herbs. She stressed the importance of conserving and enhancing this wealth to ensure a steady supply of raw materials for medicines while maintaining ecological balance. According to her, cultivating medicinal plants not only strengthens farmers\u2019 economic conditions but also improves soil health and aids environmental conservation.<\/p>\n<p>She further observed that Ayurveda, Yoga, and other AYUSH systems provide comprehensive guidance for leading a balanced and healthy life. In the present era, she said, the global community is increasingly recognizing the value of integrative medicine in disease prevention. Yoga has gained worldwide acceptance as a means to achieve a stress-free lifestyle, while Ayurvedic therapies and medicines are being widely adopted for their preventive and curative benefits.<\/p>\n<p>The President appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of AYUSH in promoting evidence-based research, standardization of medicines, and stringent quality control measures to enhance the credibility and global acceptance of AYUSH systems.
