The 41st Annual Prize Distribution Function of Rabindranath Tagore Government College, Sarkaghat was organized with great enthusiasm and grandeur on Saturday. MLA from Dharampur constituency, Chander Shekhar, attended the function as the chief guest.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, MLA said that the state government is firmly committed to providing quality education to students. He stated that the bright future of any region depends on better and quality education, and success in life can only be achieved through hard work and dedication.<\/p>\n

He said that annual prize distribution ceremonies motivate students to perform even better. Addressing the students, he advised them to always remember the purpose with which they joined the college and to work continuously towards achieving their goals. He also urged them to understand the value of time and make the best use of it.<\/p>\n

The MLA said that the youth are the most valuable asset of the nation and that their positive energy can play a significant role in achieving the goal of overall development of society and the country. He also appealed to teachers to provide quality education and proper guidance to students.<\/p>\n

Earlier, he offered prayers at the Saraswati Mata Temple located on the college campus and inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp.<\/p>\n

He also urged students to stay away from drugs and remain focused on their goals, while contributing positively to society. Congratulating the award-winning students, he expressed hope that their achievements would inspire others to work hard and carve out their own place in life.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, MLA also made several important announcements. Appreciating the cultural programme presented by the students, he announced a cash prize of Ra. 1,000 each for the four students who performed singing on the stage. He also congratulated the people of the area on the announcement made by the Chief Minister regarding the establishment of Atal Medical University at Sarkaghat. The MLA further informed that approval has been granted for the construction of a library building at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh and Rs. 12 lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of parking facilities for students. He also assured that 50 percent reservation would be ensured for boys in the basketball sports hostel. He added that he would raise the issue of starting M.Com and M.Sc. Mathematics classes in the college before the Chief Minister and the state\u2019s political leadership.<\/p>\n

He also expressed special gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, stating that the Atal Medical University at Sarkaghat would be a major opportunity for the people of the region and would contribute to the area\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

During the programme, the girl students of the college presented a welcome song and other cultural performances.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the college Principal, Dr. R. R. Kaundal, welcomed the chief guest and presented the annual report of the college.<\/p>\n

After the ceremony, the chief guest honoured meritorious students for their outstanding achievements in academics, sports and various co-curricular activities. A total of 410 students were awarded in different categories including annual academic performance, semester toppers, sports, cultural activities, NCC, NSS, Rovers and Rangers, student editors, CSCA, library users, Eco Club and Red Ribbon Club.<\/p>\n

In Bachelor of Arts (BA), Prateeksha secured the first position, while Shivani stood second and Komal third. In B.Sc. (Non-Medical), Babita secured the first position, Hrishabh Ratan stood second and Aditi third. In B.Sc. (Medical), Riya Sharma secured the first position, Shabnam stood second and Vijay Kumar third. In Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Manish Kumar secured the first position, while Palak Thakur and Sakshi stood second and third respectively. These students were honoured for their outstanding academic performance throughout their undergraduate studies.<\/p>\n

Among those present on the occasion were Jai Kumar Azad, Jeevan Lal Gupta, former Vice President of the District Congress Committee, Ritesh Thakur, member of the Rajput Kalyan Board, Rajiv Kumar, PTA President, Suman Thakur, former Pradhan of Bakarta, Sarsa Devi, former BDC member of Rakoh, Ketan Thakur, President of Youth Congress Dharampur, Satpal Sharma, member of the Brahmin Welfare Board, Raj Kumar Gupta, Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department, Sarkaghat, the Assistant Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department, Sarkaghat, parents of students and a large number of college students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
