The National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS) celebrated the remarkable achievements of five distinguished alumni who successfully summited Mount Everest. The felicitation ceremony, held in Dirang, honored Kabak Yano (2024), Tagit Sorang Abraham (2021), Tashi Yangjom (2021), Tongchen Nimsonga (2018), and Dorjee Khandu (2018) for their extraordinary feats in mountaineering.<\/p>\n

Addressing an audience of 120 students from Basic Mountaineering Course Ser No- 48, Director NIMAS Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal expressed profound admiration for the Everest climbers. “We are immensely proud of our alumni who have summitted the world’s highest peak. Their accomplishments are a testament to their hard work, determination, and the rigorous training provided by NIMAS,” he remarked.<\/p>\n

Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal extended his best wishes to the graduating students of the Basic Mountaineering Course Ser No- 48, emphasizing NIMAS’s role in nurturing perseverance, resilience, and the spirit of adventure among its trainees. “Our future graduates will continue to uphold the legacy of excellence and contribute significantly to the field of mountaineering,” he affirmed.<\/p>\n

Kabak Yano, Tagit Sorang Abraham, and Tashi Yangjom achieved their solo Everest summits on May 21, 2024, May 31, 2021, and May 11, 2021, respectively. Tongchen Nimsonga and Dorjee Khandu scaled the formidable peak as part of a group led by the Director of NIMAS on May 19, 2018.<\/p>\n

Founded as a premier institution dedicated to providing world-class training across all adventure domains \u2013 Land, Aero, and Aqua \u2013 NIMAS offers certifications in mountaineering, mountain terrain biking, white-water rafting, scuba diving, paramotor, and paragliding.
