Himachal CM Launches ‘Takniki Rozgar Setu’ Portal to Connect Technical Students with Employment Opportunities.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday launched the ‘Takniki Rozgar Setu’ portal, a first-of-its-kind digital employment platform developed by the Himachal Pradesh Department of Technical Education to strengthen job opportunities for students pursuing technical education across the state.
The portal has been designed to create a seamless connection between students, technical institutions and employers through a unified digital ecosystem, making the recruitment and placement process more transparent, efficient and accessible.
Launching the portal in Shimla, the Chief Minister said the state government is committed to building a strong ecosystem for skill development and employment generation. He said the initiative would bridge the gap between industry and aspiring youth by providing technical students with better access to employment opportunities while helping industries identify skilled manpower more efficiently.
The Takniki Rozgar Setu portal enables students to create professional profiles, showcase their technical skills, upload details of training programmes and certifications, explore available job opportunities, apply online and track the status of their placements. The platform is expected to empower students by giving them direct access to employers and helping them align their skills with industry requirements.
Employers, on the other hand, can register on the portal, post job vacancies, review applications from eligible candidates, initiate recruitment processes and update the department about successful placements. The integrated system is expected to simplify hiring procedures while reducing delays and improving transparency in the recruitment process.
Highlighting the scale of the initiative, the Chief Minister said that 164 educational institutions have already been registered on the portal. These include 136 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), 18 Polytechnics, five Engineering Colleges and five Pharmacy Colleges across Himachal Pradesh.
He further informed that 26,168 students have been registered through the Him Access Integration portal, of whom 23,054 students have already undergone skill mapping. Additionally, 97 employers have completed their registration on the platform, reflecting encouraging participation from industry.
The Chief Minister also announced that the portal will facilitate the hiring of skilled professionals such as electricians, plumbers and other technical workers, even for short-term assignments. Skilled workers can independently register on the platform, making it easier for individuals, businesses and organizations to access qualified manpower for both temporary and long-term work.
He added that technical institutions will be able to maintain updated student records, approve student profiles and monitor placement outcomes through the portal. This will help educational institutions strengthen their engagement with employers while ensuring better placement support for students.
Sukhu said the state government is actively leveraging digital technology to improve governance and create meaningful employment opportunities for young people. He expressed confidence that the Takniki Rozgar Setu portal would significantly strengthen industry-academia collaboration, improve employability among technical graduates and provide a dependable platform for skilled youth to secure quality jobs.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, the Chief Minister said Himachal Pradesh aims to emerge as a hub of skilled human resources by equipping its youth with the expertise required to meet the evolving demands of industries.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, Principal Secretary Dr. Abhishek Jain, Director of Digital Technology and Governance Dr. Nipun Jindal, along with senior government officials, were present at the launch event.
