Rohru MLA Mohan Lal Brakta inaugurated the newly constructed residential and office building of the Forest Range Division Officer at Ladot village in the Rohru Assembly constituency of Shimla district, describing the facility as an important step towards strengthening administrative and field-level infrastructure in the area.

The building has been constructed at a cost of approximately ₹35 lakh and is expected to provide improved facilities to Forest Department officers and employees while also benefiting local residents.

Speaking on the occasion, Brakta said the new facility would help improve the working environment for Forest Department personnel and facilitate better delivery of services to people in the surrounding areas.

Focus on tourism and eco-tourism in Ladot-Chanshal region

Highlighting the tourism potential of the Ladot-Chanshal region, the Rohru MLA said the area has immense possibilities for tourism and eco-tourism development.

He said the state government is working continuously to promote tourism while ensuring the protection of the environment, forest resources and local culture. According to Brakta, sustainable tourism can play an important role in creating new avenues of employment and self-employment for young people in the region.

He emphasised that development must go hand in hand with conservation, particularly in ecologically sensitive and mountainous areas.

Balanced development of rural and remote areas

Brakta said the balanced and equitable development of rural and remote areas of the Rohru Assembly constituency remains one of his key priorities.

He said efforts are being made to ensure that development facilities reach every village and benefit people across all sections of society.

The MLA stressed that strengthening basic infrastructure and public facilities in remote areas is essential for improving the quality of life of residents and creating better opportunities for local communities.

He further said that Rohru is steadily moving forward on the path of development, conservation and prosperity, with efforts focused on ensuring that economic growth does not come at the cost of the region’s natural and cultural heritage.

Officials and local representatives attend programme

Forest Department officers and employees, local public representatives and prominent members of the community were present during the inauguration programme.

Brakta said continued cooperation between government departments, local representatives and residents would be crucial for achieving sustainable development and strengthening the overall growth of the Rohru Assembly constituency.
