Brave Agniveer from Lahaul’s Kishori Village Martyred in Siachen, Nation Mourns His Supreme Sacrifice.
Shimla:
In a heart-wrenching development, Arun, a courageous young soldier hailing from Kishori village in the tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, laid down his life while serving at the Siachen Glacier, one of the highest and most inhospitable battlefields in the world.
Arun was serving as an Agniveer with the Ladakh Scouts Regiment under the Indian Army’s Agnipath scheme, which recruits young individuals for short-term military service. Known for his unwavering patriotism, discipline, and dedication to duty, Arun had always dreamt of serving the nation — a dream he fulfilled with valor, paying the ultimate price while safeguarding India’s borders under extreme and harsh conditions.
The tragic news of his martyrdom has cast a pall of grief over the serene valleys of Lahaul. His sacrifice has sparked a wave of sorrow and pride among the people of the region, who now stand united in paying tribute to their fallen hero.
Lahaul-Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana expressed profound grief over the untimely loss, saying, “This is not just a loss for one family, but for the entire district and the nation. Brave sons like Arun are the pillars of our country’s security. His sacrifice will be etched in our hearts forever.”
Echoing similar sentiments, former MLA and BJP leader Ravi Thakur extended his condolences to the bereaved family. “I stand with Arun’s family in this hour of mourning. His supreme sacrifice will always be remembered with respect and gratitude,” he said.
SDM Udaipur Alisha Chauhan confirmed that the mortal remains of the martyr will be flown to his native village by tomorrow, via air service from Chandigarh to Lahaul. Local administration is coordinating with army officials and the family to ensure that all necessary arrangements for the final rites are in place.
The village of Kishori and the surrounding communities are preparing to receive their son with full honors. Arun’s last journey will be marked with the respect due to a national hero, with the participation of local residents, officials, and army representatives.
Arun’s martyrdom serves as a stark reminder of the countless sacrifices made by Indian soldiers who serve in unforgiving terrains like Siachen, away from their families and homes, so that the nation can remain safe and secure. His bravery will forever remain a source of inspiration for the youth of the region and the country at large.
The entire nation salutes Arun, the brave Agniveer, for his unwavering courage and dedication.
