Ishaan, Tashvi, Shivansh, and Garima Crowned Himachal Champions at State Sub-Junior Badminton Championship in Mandi.

The Himachal Pradesh State Level Sub-Junior Under-15 and Under-17 Badminton Championship concluded successfully on Monday at the Town Hall in Mandi. The closing ceremony was graced by Raja Singh Malhotra, Vice President of the Himachal Pradesh Hockey Association, President of Soch Foundation, and a noted social worker, who presided over the event. Balwant Jhota attended as the Chief Guest.

In the boys’ Under-15 category, Ishaan Badhan from Hamirpur clinched the Himachal Champion title, while in the girls’ category, Tashvi Gupta from Solan emerged victorious. In the boys’ Under-17 singles, Shivansh Rana from Hamirpur took the top spot, while Garima Verma from Mandi claimed the title in the girls’ Under-17 division.

During the closing ceremony, Raja Singh Malhotra felicitated all winners and runners-up with trophies and announced a personal contribution of Rs. 51,000 to the Mandi District Badminton Association. Chief Guest Balwant Jhota urged the youth to stay away from drugs and contributed Rs. 21,000 from his discretionary fund to the association.

The event was attended by Himachal Pradesh Badminton Association President Vijay Thakur, General Secretary Ramesh Thakur, Treasurer Sanjay Kalia, Vice Presidents Chandrashekhar Turki, Vishnu Dutt Modgil, Pankaj Sharma, Tournament Coordinator Balwant Singh Jhota, and Mandi District Association Secretary Datul Chauhan, among others including Jitendra Vaidya, Vidya Vidyasagar Sharma, P.R. Rana, R.K. Thakur, Lakhvinder Singh, Atul Sharma, Narendra Rana, Ratan Singh, Arun, and Rahul.

Under-15 Boys (Singles):

• Winner: Ishaan Badhan (Hamirpur) defeated Suryansh (Kangra) 2–1 in a thrilling final.
• 3rd Place: Shaurya Sharma (Una)
• 4th Place: Arnav (Mandi)

Under-15 Girls (Singles):

• Winner: Tashvi Gupta (Solan) defeated Tejal Rajput (Kullu) in straight sets.

Under-17 Boys (Singles):

• Winner: Shivansh Rana (Hamirpur) defeated Kartik Thakur (Mandi) 2–1.
• 3rd Place: Tanmay Thakur (Mandi)
• 4th Place: Bhavneet (Mandi)

Under-17 Girls (Singles):

• Winner: Garima Verma (Mandi) defeated Tashvi Gupta (Solan) 2–1.
• 3rd Place: Sonakshi Jaswal (Shimla)
• 4th Place: Riddhi Sharma (Una)

Under-15 Mixed Doubles:

• Winners: Suryansh (Kangra) & Tejal Rajput (Kullu) defeated Veer Vikram Singh Panta (Shimla) & Sonakshi Jaswal (Shimla) 2–1.

Under-17 Mixed Doubles:

• Winners: Ritul Thakur & Avni Thakur (Kangra) defeated Ishaan (Hamirpur) & Sargam in straight sets.

Under-15 Boys (Doubles):

• Winners: Amit Rana & Shaurya Sharma (Una) defeated Suryansh & Tanmay (Kangra) 2–1.

Under-15 Girls (Doubles):

• Winners: Tashvi Gupta (Solan) & Tejal Rajput (Kullu) defeated Dipali & Prachi Rana (Kullu).

Under-17 Girls (Doubles):

• Winners: Garima Verma & Shreya Rana (Mandi/Hamirpur) defeated Avni Thakur & Sargam (Kangra/Hamirpur).
