Sardar Patel University Excels at Inter-College Wushu and Taekwondo Championship.

Sardar Patel University, Mandi, achieved remarkable success at the Inter-College Wushu and Taekwondo (Men & Women) Championship held on February 23–24, 2026, at MLSM College. The university’s athletes delivered outstanding performances, earning several medals and bringing pride to the institution.
In the Wushu competition, the men’s team demonstrated exceptional strength and technique. Tarun Thakur secured a silver medal in his category, while Shivansh claimed a bronze medal with a spirited performance. In the women’s Wushu category, Kanika showcased impressive skill and determination to win a silver medal, highlighting the growing excellence of female athletes at the university.
The Taekwondo event also witnessed a commendable achievement as Rahul earned a silver medal, displaying agility, discipline, and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Lalit Kumar Awasthi congratulated the medal winners and praised their dedication and perseverance. He emphasized the university’s strong commitment to promoting sports and physical activities among students. According to him, participation in sports not only enhances physical fitness but also fosters discipline and helps students stay away from social evils such as substance abuse.
The Vice-Chancellor and the Assistant Director (Youth & Sports Affairs) also appreciated the efforts of Team Manager and Assistant Professor Vikesh Kumar Rana, along with Dr. Monika Sharma, Assistant Professor of Physics, for their valuable guidance and mentorship that played a key role in the team’s success.
