BJP MLA Raises Concern Over Delay in MRI Facility at Nerchowk Medical College in Mandi.
Shimla:
During the ongoing Vidhan Sabha session in Shimla today, a BJP MLA from Sundernagar in Mandi district Rakesh Jamwal raised concerns over the delay in installing an MRI machine at the Medical College in Nerchowk. He questioned the state government about the timeline for making this essential diagnostic facility operational, highlighting the inconvenience faced by patients who are forced to travel long distances for MRI scans.
The MLA also brought attention to the introduction of advanced robotic surgery facilities in various medical colleges across Himachal Pradesh, including Nerchowk. He pointed out that such cutting-edge healthcare services are often expensive and may remain out of reach for common people.
Seeking clarity, he asked the government under which welfare scheme these costly medical services would be covered so that economically weaker sections can benefit. He emphasized the need for inclusive healthcare policies to ensure that technological advancements in the medical field are accessible to all sections of society, not just a privileged few.
The issue has sparked discussion on improving healthcare infrastructure and affordability in the state.
