Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates and Lays Foundation for Infrastructure Projects Worth Over Rs 29,400 Crores in Mumbai.

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone in Mumbai, Maharashtra, laying the foundation stones and dedicating several transformative projects valued at more than Rs 29,400 crores. These projects, spanning roads, railways, ports, and skill development initiatives, are poised to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth across the region.
Addressing the audience, Prime Minister Modi expressed his delight at inaugurating these crucial projects aimed at bolstering connectivity between Mumbai and its neighboring areas. He highlighted a landmark skill development initiative tailored for Maharashtra’s youth, emphasizing its potential to generate employment opportunities on a massive scale.
Key among the projects highlighted was the Vadhavan port, recently approved by the central government with an estimated investment of Rs 76,000 crores. Prime Minister Modi underscored its potential to create over 10 lakh jobs, reflecting the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth and prosperity.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi also noted the enthusiastic reception from investors in Mumbai over the past month, citing confidence in the government’s stable governance and commitment to expedited development. He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to accelerating infrastructure projects to propel Mumbai towards becoming a global financial and technological hub.
Highlighting Maharashtra’s rich cultural heritage and economic contributions, Prime Minister Modi envisioned a future where the state emerges as a global economic powerhouse and a premier tourist destination. He underscored ongoing efforts to develop pilgrimage sites and improve connectivity, which are expected to bolster tourism, agriculture, and industry while facilitating ease of travel for millions of pilgrims.
The Prime Minister further emphasized the government’s pro-poor policies, including the ambitious goal of constructing three crore houses for the underprivileged, which has already benefitted millions across the country. He also praised initiatives like the SVANidhi scheme, which has significantly boosted the livelihoods of street vendors, enabling them to enhance their income through digital transactions.
Among the dignitaries present at the event were Governor of Maharashtra Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal, and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale.
Prime Minister Modi concluded by calling upon citizens to strive for a harmonious society and contribute towards building a stronger, prosperous nation, echoing Maharashtra’s pivotal role in India’s journey towards development and global prominence.
