Prime Minister Narendra Modi today distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth in various government departments and organisations during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela held through video conferencing. Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Prime Minister said India’s youth are the driving force behind the nation’s journey towards becoming a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.

Calling the day “historic and deeply meaningful” for thousands of families across the country, the Prime Minister congratulated the new recruits and their parents for their dedication and hard work. He said the newly appointed youth would contribute significantly to nation-building through their roles in sectors such as railways, banking, defence, healthcare, and education.

Rozgar Mela Reflects Commitment Towards Youth Empowerment

The Prime Minister stated that the Rozgar Mela reflects the Government’s unwavering commitment to empowering the youth with meaningful employment opportunities. He emphasized that the newly recruited employees are not merely joining government service but are becoming active participants in India’s transformation journey.

“India’s youth are playing a vital role in accelerating the journey towards a Viksit Bharat,” the Prime Minister said, adding that every young government employee carries the responsibility of strengthening citizens’ trust through dedication and service.

Global Confidence in India’s Youth and Technology

Sharing insights from his recently concluded diplomatic visit to five countries, PM Modi said global leaders and international corporations are showing immense confidence in India’s young demographic and technological capabilities.

“The world today wants to partner in India’s developmental journey,” he remarked, noting that discussions during the visit focused on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, green technology, advanced manufacturing, maritime cooperation, critical minerals, and strategic energy partnerships.

The Prime Minister highlighted agreements with countries such as the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, the UAE, and Italy, stating that these partnerships are aimed at generating employment opportunities and providing global exposure to Indian youth.

Semiconductor and Technology Partnerships to Generate Jobs

Highlighting India’s emergence as a trusted global manufacturing partner, PM Modi referred to the agreement between ASML and Tata Electronics in the semiconductor sector. He said India is among a select group of countries with which the Dutch semiconductor giant has signed agreements.

According to the Prime Minister, this partnership alone is expected to create thousands of employment opportunities in India. He further stated that collaborations with Sweden in artificial intelligence and with the UAE in supercomputing would strengthen India’s technology ecosystem.

“These sectors will shape global industries over the next 25 years,” he said.

Focus on Clean Energy and Green Economy

The Prime Minister underlined that sectors such as clean energy, green hydrogen, critical minerals, and sustainable manufacturing are expanding rapidly and creating new economic opportunities.

He said India’s growing partnerships with countries like Sweden, Norway, and Italy in green transition technologies would help position the country strongly in future clean manufacturing industries.

“These partnerships are opening the doors to a new economy and new opportunities,” he stated.

Major Investments Creating New Employment Opportunities

Reiterating the government’s commitment to building a developed India by 2047, PM Modi said large-scale investments across sectors are generating millions of jobs for the country’s youth.

He highlighted that India is building a complete domestic semiconductor supply chain and that nearly ten major semiconductor units are expected to gain global recognition in the coming years.

The Prime Minister also pointed to investments worth nearly ₹75,000 crore in shipbuilding, ship repair, and aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities, which he said would create substantial employment opportunities for engineers, technicians, and skilled workers.

Infrastructure Development Transforming Rural India

Emphasizing the role of infrastructure in employment generation, PM Modi said rapid transformation is now visible even in rural India due to improved connectivity and development initiatives.

He said the expansion of railways, highways, airports, ports, logistics systems, and digital networks has opened new opportunities for farmers, traders, students, and entrepreneurs.

“Enhanced connectivity has opened new avenues for farmers, small traders, and students,” he said, adding that villages are increasingly becoming part of India’s economic growth story.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the impact of welfare schemes providing housing, toilets, electricity, and tap water, saying these initiatives have improved quality of life and accelerated local economic activity.

Startup Growth and Women Entrepreneurship

The Prime Minister noted that India has emerged as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, with more than 2.3 lakh recognized startups operating across the country.

He said the startup revolution is no longer confined to metropolitan cities, with youth from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities actively participating in innovation and entrepreneurship.

PM Modi also praised the growing contribution of women entrepreneurs, particularly in villages and small towns, through schemes such as Mudra Yojana and PM SVANidhi.

Call for Service-Oriented Governance

Addressing the newly appointed government employees directly, the Prime Minister urged them to treat public service as a form of national service.

He stressed that empathy, honesty, and efficiency in administration are essential for strengthening public trust in institutions.

“A Viksit Bharat will be built by the efforts of such youth who view their work as a means of national service,” he said.

The Prime Minister also encouraged the recruits to continuously upgrade their skills through platforms such as the iGOT Karmayogi Portal and the Karmayogi Prarambh initiative to remain prepared for evolving technological and administrative needs.

Concluding his address, PM Modi expressed confidence that the newly appointed youth would infuse fresh energy into India’s development journey and help fulfil the vision of a developed India by 2047.
