London:

The United Kingdom has reiterated its unwavering support for Ukraine following a virtual meeting between UK Prime Minister Keir Srarmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday afternoon.

During the high-level discussion, Prime Minister Starmer expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people in the aftermath of the devastating strikes that hit the country earlier this week. He conveyed that the thoughts and sympathies of the British people were with Ukraine as it continues to endure the human and economic consequences of the ongoing conflict.

According to an official statement released following the call, the two leaders reviewed the latest developments in diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war and achieving a sustainable peace settlement. Prime Minister Starmer emphasized that the United Kingdom remains firmly committed to supporting Ukraine and will continue to work closely with President Zelenskyy and international allies to secure a just, lasting, and durable peace.

The conversation also focused on the latest package of sanctions imposed by the UK against Russia. Both leaders welcomed the additional measures, describing them as an important step in increasing pressure on the Kremlin and reinforcing international efforts to hold Russia accountable for its actions.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed that Britain would continue standing “four-square” behind Ukraine, underscoring London’s commitment to supporting Kyiv politically, economically, and diplomatically. The leaders agreed that maintaining strong international coordination remains essential to advancing peace negotiations and safeguarding Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The discussion highlighted the close partnership between the United Kingdom and Ukraine, which has strengthened significantly since the outbreak of the conflict. British support has included military assistance, humanitarian aid, economic backing, and coordinated sanctions alongside allies.

As diplomatic efforts continue, both leaders stressed the importance of maintaining momentum toward a peaceful resolution while ensuring that any future settlement respects Ukraine’s independence and security interests.

The Prime Minister and President Zelenskyy concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to ongoing dialogue and cooperation. Both leaders expressed their intention to remain in close contact and looked forward to speaking again in the near future as international efforts to support Ukraine continue.
