NIA Conducts Searches Across Three States in Cambodia-Linked Cyber Slavery Case.

New Delhi:

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out searches at six locations across three states and the national capital in connection with a Cambodia-linked human trafficking and cyber slavery case.

According to an official statement issued by the agency, extensive searches were conducted at four locations in Bihar, covering the districts of Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, and East Champaran. The NIA also searched one location each in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi as part of its ongoing investigation.

The searches were carried out at premises allegedly linked to associates and supporters of arrested accused persons as well as individuals who are currently absconding in the case. During the operations, the agency seized several digital devices, including smartphones, laptops, and other electronic equipment.

Investigators also recovered various documents and other materials believed to be relevant to the probe. The NIA is examining the seized items to gather further evidence about the alleged network involved in human trafficking and cyber-related criminal activities.

The case relates to a broader investigation into organised groups allegedly luring individuals with fake job offers and trafficking them to Cambodia, where victims were reportedly forced into cyber fraud operations. The agency has been conducting further investigations to identify other members of the network and trace financial links.
