India to Host T20 Asia Cup in 2025: ACC.
New Delhi:
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced that India will host the 2025 edition of the men’s Asia Cup in the T20 format. This tournament will serve as a prelude to the T20 World Cup scheduled to take place in India in 2026. As customary, the Asia Cup will follow the format of the World Cup it precedes.
In addition, Bangladesh has been confirmed as the host for the 2027 Asia Cup, which will be played in the 50-over ODI format. This event will act as a precursor to the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup, set to be held in South Africa.
The 2025 T20 Asia Cup and the 2027 ODI Asia Cup will each feature 13 matches, aligning with the allocation of 26 total games for these tournaments.
The Asia Cup, a biennial senior men’s cricket tournament organized by the ACC, includes teams from Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and one non-Test playing ACC member selected through qualifying events.
