CM Assures Full Support to Cloudburst-Affected Families in Kangra’s Boh Valley, Restoration of Essential Services on Priority.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has assured all possible assistance to families affected by the recent cloudburst in Boh Valley of Kangra district, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to providing immediate relief and restoring normalcy in the disaster-hit region.
The Chief Minister on Wednesday telephonically spoke to Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, who visited the affected villages to assess the damage caused by the cloudburst. During the interaction, the Chief Minister also spoke directly with affected families over the phone and assured them that the government would extend every possible support during this difficult time.
Briefing the Chief Minister, Kewal Singh Pathania said that acting on the government’s directions, the district administration had already provided immediate financial relief of Rs. 25,000 each to 19 families whose houses were completely damaged in the disaster. In addition, these families were supplied with daily essential item kits to meet their immediate needs.
He further informed that 17 families whose houses suffered partial damage had been provided Rs. 10,000 each as immediate relief.
Pathania said the cloudburst had caused extensive damage to both public and private property in Boh Valley. He requested the Chief Minister to ensure the early restoration of roads, drinking water supply and other essential services that were disrupted due to the calamity.
Responding to the situation, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the state government stands firmly with every family affected by the cloudburst and would leave no stone unturned in providing relief and rehabilitation.
He directed the authorities to restore essential public services in the affected areas on a priority basis to minimize hardship for local residents.
The Chief Minister also announced that he would soon visit the cloudburst-affected areas to personally assess the extent of the damage and review relief and restoration work on the ground.
In view of the forecast of heavy rainfall over the coming days, the Chief Minister appealed to the public to remain alert and follow the advisories issued by the district administration to ensure their safety.
