Israel believes recent joint military operations conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran have created new opportunities to expand regional peace efforts, with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stating that the changing geopolitical landscape could pave the way for broader normalization agreements in the Middle East.
In an official statement issued on Thursday, the Prime Minister’s Office said the joint American-Israeli military action against Iran, coupled with what it described as Israel’s dismantling of Iran’s “terror axis,” has opened the possibility of expanding the circle of peace in the region.
The statement emphasized that recent strategic developments have created conditions that could encourage additional countries to establish formal diplomatic ties with Israel under the Abraham Accords, the series of normalization agreements signed between Israel and several Arab nations beginning in 2020.
Saudi Arabia’s participation highlighted
The Prime Minister’s Office referred to remarks made by US President Donald Trump, who said that Saudi Arabia joining the Abraham Accords would represent a historic leap forward for peace in the Middle East.
According to the PMO, expanding the Abraham Accords remains an important objective as Israel seeks to strengthen regional cooperation and promote broader diplomatic engagement with Arab and Muslim-majority nations.
