PM Modi Hoists Dharma Dhwaja at Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Calls It the ‘Flag of India’s Civilizational Renaissance’.

Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh:

In a historic moment marking the completion of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple’s construction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today ceremonially hoisted the saffron Dharma Dhwaja atop the temple’s Shikhar in Ayodhya. The event, celebrated as the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Dhwajarohan Utsav, was witnessed by devotees across India and worldwide, with the Prime Minister declaring that “today, the entire India and the entire world is filled with the spirit of Lord Shri Ram.”

The day coincided with Margashirsha Shukla Panchami, also observed as Vivah Panchami of Shri Ram and Sita, and the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur—adding deep spiritual significance.

“A Flag of India’s Civilizational Reawakening”

Calling the Dharma Dhwaja “the flag of the renaissance of Indian civilization,” Prime Minister Modi said the saffron banner—bearing the radiant Sun symbol, an ‘Om,’ and the sacred Kovidar tree—embodies the values of Ram Rajya, including truth, dignity, unity, and cultural continuity.

“This flag is resolve, this flag is success, and this flag is the culmination of centuries of struggle and devotion,” he added, stressing that the banner will proclaim the ideals of truth, duty, and freedom from suffering for thousands of years to come.

He also referenced ancient scriptures, noting that those unable to enter the temple but who bow to its flag will earn spiritual merit.

Ayodhya as the Symbol of Collective Strength

Describing Ayodhya as “the land where ideals transform into conduct,” PM Modi highlighted the spiritual and cultural mosaic now represented in the newly completed temple complex. He pointed to the seven surrounding temples dedicated to figures such as Mata Shabari, Nishadraj, Maharshi Valmiki, Maharshi Vashishtha, and Sant Tulsidas—symbolizing friendship, social harmony, and the contributions of every section of society.

The complex also includes 87 carved stone panels from the Valmiki Ramayana and 79 bronze-cast cultural episodes, making it a unique educational and cultural heritage site.

“Our Ram Unites Through Emotion, Not Differences”

Emphasizing inclusiveness, the Prime Minister said that for Lord Ram, devotion mattered more than lineage and cooperation more than power. He reiterated the government’s developmental focus over the past 11 years on women, Dalits, backward and tribal communities, farmers, and youth.

When every section of society is empowered, he said, the collective resolve of building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047 becomes achievable.

Call to Overcome the ‘Mentality of Slavery’

In a powerful cultural and historical reflection, PM Modi urged the nation to dedicate the next decade to eliminating the “mentality of slavery,” referencing the long-lasting impact of Macaulay’s colonial framework introduced in 1835.

He stressed that India must reclaim pride in its democratic traditions, citing ancient systems such as the democratic inscription at Uttiramerur and the deliberative forums of Anubhava Mantapa founded by Basavanna.

From replacing colonial symbols in the Indian Navy to restoring the legacy of Lord Ram, he said these steps mark India’s journey to reclaim its civilizational confidence.

Ayodhya: A Blend of Tradition and Modernity

PM Modi shared a vision of Ayodhya as a futuristic spiritual city where “spirituality and artificial intelligence will coexist.” Major infrastructure developments—including the grand airport, a modern railway station, Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains, and improved livelihoods—have already transformed Ayodhya into one of Uttar Pradesh’s most dynamic cities.

Since the Pran Pratishtha earlier this year, nearly 45 crore devotees have visited the temple, leading to a surge in local prosperity.

A Chariot for a Developed India

Drawing a parallel from Lord Ram’s metaphorical chariot in the Ramayana, the Prime Minister said India’s journey to becoming a developed nation requires:

  • Wheels: Valor and patience
  • Flag: Truth and supreme conduct
  • Horses: Strength, wisdom, restraint, benevolence
  • Reins: Forgiveness, compassion, equanimity

He said national interest must remain above self-interest for India to progress with unity and determination.

Dignitaries Present

The event was attended by:

  • Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel
  • Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
  • RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat
  • Several saints, dignitaries, and thousands of devotees.

The Dhwajarohan Utsav marks not only the completion of the Ram Mandir but also, as the Prime Minister said, “the resurgence of identity, the return of memory, and the proclamation of a proud civilization.”
