Press Club Mandi Organises Kheer Bhandara on Second Monday of Shravan; DC Apoorv Devgan Joins Devotees.

Marking the auspicious second Monday of the holy month of Shravan, the Press Club Mandi organised a Kheer Bhandara near the District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) office premises on Monday. The religious and community event witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees, local residents, government officials and employees, who gathered to receive prasad and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.

Deputy Commissioner Mandi Apoorv Devgan actively participated in the programme and personally served kheer to devotees. On the occasion, he offered prayers to Lord Shiva for the safety and well-being of the people of Mandi district and Himachal Pradesh, expressing hope that the ongoing monsoon season would pass without any natural disasters or loss of life and property.

The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to citizens to pray for a safe and peaceful monsoon, public welfare and the prosperity of Mandi district. Referring to Mandi as the renowned “Chhoti Kashi,” he said the town has a rich tradition of celebrating festivals and religious occasions dedicated to Lord Shiva with great devotion and community participation.

Highlighting the importance of such events, Devgan said religious and social gatherings like the Kheer Bhandara strengthen communal harmony, promote the spirit of selfless service and foster closer bonds among people. He congratulated the Press Club Mandi for successfully organising the event and appreciated the efforts of its members in preserving the city’s cultural and spiritual traditions.

The event was organised under the leadership of Press Club Mandi President Subhash Thakur, with active support from club members and senior journalists. Among those present were Birbal Sharma, Murari Sharma, Ankush Sood, Dipender Manta, Roop Lal Kaundal, Rajnish Himalayan, Khem Chand Shastri, Bhagat Singh Guleria, Narendra Sharma, Roop Upadhyay, Vinod Rana, Rakesh Rana, Ajay Rangra, Surender Sharma, Rakesh Sharma, Saroj Thakur, Viplav Saklani, Ashwani Bhardwaj, Shivani and Dimple along with other office-bearers and members of the Press Club, who contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the community feast.
