Former CPS Sohan Lal Thakur Inspects Landslide-Hit Road in Sundernagar region of Mandi, Orders Swift Restoration of Traffic.

Former Chief Parliamentary Secretary and senior Congress leader from Sundernagar, Sohan Lal Thakur, today visited the Kyan Ehan road under Sundernagar assembly constituency of Mandi district, which has remained closed for the past two days following a major landslide. During the inspection, he interacted with local residents and listened to their concerns, assuring them that every possible effort would be made to restore connectivity at the earliest.

The inspection was attended by officials of the Public Works Department (PWD), including the Executive Engineer (XEN), Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Junior Engineer (JE), the entire departmental team, and the contractor engaged in the road widening project.

Thakur directed the officials and the contractor to remove the accumulated debris on a war footing and ensure that vehicular movement is restored without delay. He stressed that prolonged disruption of the road has caused significant inconvenience to the public and that immediate action is necessary to ease their difficulties. He reiterated that the convenience and safety of the people remain the highest priority.

Earlier, Thakur also inspected the under-construction bridge over the Sutlej River at Dhawal. He reviewed the progress of the project with the concerned officials and contractor and instructed them to accelerate the pace of work while maintaining quality standards.

Describing the bridge as a vital infrastructure project for several important panchayats, Thakur said it would significantly improve connectivity and benefit thousands of residents. He directed the executing agencies to complete the project before the stipulated deadline and affirmed that the work is being closely monitored to ensure timely completion for the benefit of the region.
