77th Army Day Commemorated at Rakhota: ESM Pay Tribute to Martyrs.

On January 15, 2025, a grand celebration was held in Rakhota to mark the 77th Army Day, organized by the United Front of Ex-Servicemen (JCOs & OR), Himachal Pradesh. A large number of ex-servicemen and Veer Naries from the surrounding areas of Tihra, Cholthra, Sari, and Thouna in the Sarkaghat Division of Mandi district gathered to honor the sacrifices of Indian soldiers.

The event, presided over by the senior-most veteran, 90-year-old Ludar Singh, began with the unfurling of the national flag followed by the national anthem. A two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s security. The speakers at the event hailed the Indian Army as the second-largest in the world, known for its unparalleled valor and sacrifices.

The speakers also took the opportunity to encourage the youth to join the armed forces and warned against the dangers of drug abuse. The event featured cultural performances, including band tunes and a flute song by Subedar Bir Singh Chandel and his party, which added to the celebratory atmosphere.

Social worker Ramesh Kumar Bhardwaj was also present as a special invitee. Among those who graced the occasion were veterans Ramesh Kumar Tapwal, Raju Ram, Amrit Lal, Surinder Kumar, Baldev Raj, Sanjay Singh Thakur, Ravinder Singh, Mela Ram, CL Pathania, and several others.

In his address, Capt. Jagdish Verma (Retd.), Chairman of the United Front of Ex-Servicemen (JCOs & OR) Himachal Pradesh, congratulated all ex-servicemen and their families across the state and expressed his appreciation for the successful organization of the event in the Sarkaghat region.

This event was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers and served as an inspiration for the youth to serve the nation with pride and honor.
