CSIR and Laghu Udyog Bharati Sign MoU to Enhance Technology Transfer to Micro and Small Enterprises.
New Delhi:
The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) and Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at transferring selected CSIR technologies to micro and small enterprises across India. The MoU was formalized today at the CSIR Headquarters in New Delhi.
Laghu Udyog Bharati, a prominent organization representing micro and small industries since 1994, boasts a presence in over 575 districts across 27 states and comprises more than 51,000 members. The MoU outlines a commitment to transfer 100 CSIR technologies to identified micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within the next 100 days.
The agreement also includes provisions for MSMEs to provide feedback on their technological needs, which will guide CSIR in developing new technologies. The collaboration aims to enhance technology advancement, meet regulatory standards, and promote market expansion and export opportunities.
The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures including Dr. N Kalaiselvi, Secretary DSIR & Director General of CSIR, and representatives from both CSIR and LUB. During the event, 15 technologies were transferred from six CSIR labs, including innovations like pesticide detection kits, multi-copter drones, air quality monitoring systems, and gluten-free biscuits.
This partnership is expected to extend the market reach of CSIR technologies, support export promotion, and facilitate import substitution. For LUB and its affiliated MSMEs, the integration of these technologies is anticipated to boost operational efficiency and raise awareness about CSIR’s societal contributions.
