BJP Holds Protest in Manali, Raises Concerns Over Roads, Governance and Public Issues.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest rally in Manali on Monday, targeting the Congress-led state government over what party leaders described as administrative failures, corruption and policies detrimental to public interests.

The demonstration was led by former minister Govind Singh Thakur and organised by the BJP’s Manali unit. Hundreds of party workers and supporters participated in the march from Manu Rangshala to Ibex Chowk on Mall Road, raising slogans against the state government.

Addressing the gathering, Thakur accused the government of failing to respond adequately to the poor condition of roads across the Kullu-Manali region. He said the monsoon had damaged several important stretches, with potholes, landslides and broken roads creating difficulties for residents, commuters and tourists.

Thakur claimed that public dissatisfaction with the government was growing and asserted that voters would express their opinion in the 2027 Assembly elections.

Kullu Zila Parishad Chairman Thakur Dass also called for immediate restoration of major roads and improved connectivity to remote villages. He stressed that timely infrastructure development was essential for ensuring access to markets and basic services.

Other speakers highlighted problems faced by farmers due to crop damage and delays in transporting produce. Concerns were also raised over road accidents, law-and-order issues, rising prices and the condition of healthcare services.

The BJP leaders urged the state government to take immediate measures to address the concerns raised by residents and improve basic infrastructure across the region.
