Flood Damage Assessed in Three Villages of Tod Valley in Lahaul and Spiti.

District Congress Committee Lahaul and Spiti president Dorje Angroop Larje on Wednesday visited three villages in Tod Valley of Lahaul and Spiti district to assess the damage caused by recent flooding. He was accompanied by Ram Singh and administrative officials, who were present at the affected sites to review the situation.

The flooding has caused significant damage to key infrastructure and basic amenities in the area. According to Larje, contact roads have been badly affected, while irrigation channels have also suffered extensive damage. Drinking water sources in the villages have sustained considerable damage, raising concerns over access to safe water for local residents.

Larje said that restoration work on the affected road connectivity has already begun to reconnect the villages and provide relief to residents. The administration has also started assessing the extent of damage suffered by farmers due to the flooding.

During the visit, officials inspected the affected areas and took stock of the immediate requirements for restoring essential services. The assessment of agricultural losses is expected to help determine the assistance required by affected farmers.

Larje stressed the need for prompt restoration of roads, irrigation infrastructure and drinking water sources to ensure that normal life returns to the affected villages at the earliest.
