Compassion in Action: Blood Donation Camp Marks World Brotherhood Day in Memory of Dadi Prakashmani Ji.

Compassion took a meaningful form at Brahma Kumaris Sadbhavana Bhawan, Bhiuli, Mandi, on World Brotherhood Day and the 19th Remembrance Day of Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani Ji, as 39 people came forward to donate blood, contributing 39 units for those in need.

The voluntary blood donation camp was organised jointly by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya and the Society Service Wing (RERF) from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The initiative reflected a larger commitment of the Brahma Kumaris towards the welfare of society—one that has continued for several decades, addressing changing social needs through service, awareness and value-based initiatives.

The camp was also connected with the 10 Crore Nasha Mukti Pratigya Maha Abhiyan, through which the organisation is presently working to inspire people, particularly the youth, to stay away from addiction and adopt a healthy, positive and value-based lifestyle. The two initiatives carry a common message—to care for life, protect life and contribute to the well-being of society. While blood donation becomes a direct act of saving life, the Nasha Mukti campaign seeks to protect individuals and families from the destructive impact of addiction.

Speaking on the occasion, B.K. Sushila Ji, Mandi Circle Head, said that the most meaningful way to remember Dadi Prakashmani Ji is to put the values she stood for—love, purity, compassion and selfless service—into practice. She said that blood donation is a simple yet powerful expression of compassion, where an individual gives a part of themselves for the life and well-being of another person.

The Brahma Kumaris, she added, have consistently worked for the welfare of society by responding to its emerging challenges. From promoting inner well-being and positive values to addressing contemporary concerns such as addiction, mental well-being, healthy living and social harmony, the organisation continues to focus its efforts on creating a healthier and more compassionate society.

Medical personnel Dr Amit, Yogesh Sharma (OKT Grade-II), Banita (Staff Nurse), Sangeeta (Counsellor) and Rakesh (BTVM staff) provided health screening and medical assistance to the donors.

The donors were provided certificates, refreshments and food. The organisers appealed to young people and community members to come forward and become part of such initiatives, emphasising that social transformation begins when concern for others is converted into compassionate action.
