Lahaul-Spiti Zila Parishad Holds Quarterly Meeting in Keylong, Focuses on Transparency and Speed in Development Works.

The quarterly meeting of the Lahaul-Spiti Zila Parishad was held today at the Zila Parishad Building, Conference Hall, Keylong, under the chairpersonship of Zila Parishad Chairperson Veena Devi. The meeting saw the special presence of Kalyani Tiwana, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Project Officer, ITDP Keylong. The proceedings were conducted by Sachin Thakur, District Panchayat Officer and Secretary, Zila Parishad.
During the meeting, Zila Parishad members reviewed the progress of various ongoing developmental projects across the district and obtained detailed information from the concerned departments. Extensive discussions were held on issues related to electricity, roads, water supply, irrigation, forests, education, public works, tourism, horticulture, SADA, and BRO.
The members also reviewed the implementation of decisions taken in the previous meeting and emphasized the need to maintain transparency and pace in development initiatives. Participating members included Mahendra Singh, Kunga Gyalsan Bodh, Nirmala Devi, and from the Spiti region, Mona Devi, Tenzin Phagdol, and Chhering Sandup, who joined the meeting virtually.
All department heads were present at the meeting and responded to the queries raised by the members, providing updates on various departmental plans and projects.
Addressing the gathering, Chairperson Veena Devi directed the district officials to ensure that all developmental works are completed within the stipulated time frame and with high quality standards. She also urged them to guarantee the swift and effective resolution of public grievances.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous resolution to further accelerate the district’s development activities with greater transparency, accountability, and coordination among all departments.
