Himachal Pradesh’s First Ozone-Based Drinking Water Project to Come Up in Dehra at Rs 46 Crore.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced that Himachal Pradesh’s first ozone-based drinking water treatment project will be established in the Dehra area at an estimated cost of Rs 46 crore to ensure the supply of clean and safe drinking water to residents.
Addressing a public gathering at Baddal Thor in Dehra assembly constituency of Kangra district, Sukhu said the ozone-based treatment technology would help provide safer drinking water and reduce health risks associated with contaminated water. He added that similar projects would subsequently be established across the state.
The Chief Minister also announced the opening of a veterinary hospital at Baddal Thor to strengthen veterinary healthcare services and provide better facilities to livestock owners in the area.
Sukhu said the state government had initiated the process of extending benefits under the Mukhyamantri Ka Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana, with surveys currently being conducted in panchayats. He said the government was committed to ensuring equitable access to state resources, particularly for people at the grassroots level.
Highlighting environmental initiatives, Sukhu said the Rajiv Gandhi Van Samvardhan Yojana had been launched to encourage youth and women’s groups to participate in plantation and forest protection. Self-help groups are being provided financial assistance of Rs 1.20 lakh, along with incentives linked to plantation survival.
The Chief Minister also highlighted measures to strengthen education, including the opening of CBSE schools and plans for more such institutions to provide quality education.
He assured residents that there would be no shortage of funds for development in Dehra, adding that adequate resources were being allocated for various development projects across the constituency.
Sukhu received a warm welcome from local residents at the Baddal Thor helipad. Local MLA Kamlesh Thakur and other Congress representatives also welcomed and honoured him.
Later, the Chief Minister visited the Laxmi Narayan Temple at Chanour and offered prayers for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of Himachal Pradesh.
