CM Sukhu Congratulates Winners, Participants and Organisers of 27th Annual Forest Sports Meet.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has congratulated the winners, participants and organisers of the 27th Annual Sports and Duty Competition of the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, held from September 11 to 13, 2026, at Rampur in Shimla district.
More than 1,000 players from across Himachal Pradesh participated in the three-day competition, showcasing their talent and sporting abilities in various disciplines.
Congratulating the players who excelled in different sporting events, the Chief Minister appreciated their dedication, hard work, discipline and sporting spirit. He said that sports play an important role in maintaining physical fitness and mental well-being while also inculcating qualities such as teamwork, leadership, determination and a healthy competitive spirit.
Sukhu also lauded all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and commendable performances during the competition. He said that every participant deserved appreciation for demonstrating commitment, discipline and sportsmanship. Such departmental sporting events, he added, provide employees with an opportunity to showcase their abilities while strengthening camaraderie, team spirit and fellowship among them.
Highlighting the important role of the Forest Department, the Chief Minister said that forest personnel were making a significant contribution towards protecting and conserving the state’s forest wealth, safeguarding biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance. Their efforts in the sustainable management of natural resources were highly significant for the state, he said.
He observed that organising sports competitions for forest personnel not only encouraged them to remain physically fit but also provided an opportunity to rejuvenate from their demanding professional responsibilities. Such activities help foster a greater sense of unity and fellowship among employees and contribute to a healthier working environment.
The Chief Minister said that the state government was committed to promoting sports and encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle among government employees as well as the youth. Regular participation in sports, he said, helps improve physical fitness, reduce stress and enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
The competition also witnessed strong performances by various Forest Department circles. Hamirpur Forest Circle was adjudged the overall champion, while Rampur Forest Circle secured the second position.
The successful conduct of the annual sports and duty competition provided Forest Department personnel from across the state with a platform to compete in a healthy and spirited atmosphere while strengthening professional bonds and promoting fitness and teamwork.
