Mohali Doctors Conduct Health Check-up Camp for Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris at Sarkaghat in Mandi.

A health check-up camp for ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependent family members was organised at Shiv Vilas Hotel Sarkaghat in Mandi district on Monday, where a team of doctors from Mohali conducted medical examinations and provided health-related advice to the participants.
A large number of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their family members attended the camp. The programme began with the National Anthem, followed by a two-minute silence in memory of the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.
During the camp, the visiting medical team examined the health of the participants and offered consultations on various health-related concerns. The initiative provided an opportunity for former defence personnel and their families to receive medical advice and guidance close to their homes.
An important highlight of the programme was a demonstration on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and emergency artificial breathing techniques. The demonstration focused on how immediate assistance can be provided if a person suffers a cardiac arrest or suddenly stops breathing.
The CPR demonstration was conducted by Subedar Major Vidya Sagar Dogra and his colleagues, who are retired personnel from the Army Medical Corps. Having served for a long period in the medical field, they explained the basic emergency response procedures and demonstrated the techniques before the gathering of ex-servicemen and their families.
The organisers emphasised that awareness about CPR and basic emergency response can prove crucial during medical emergencies, particularly when immediate medical assistance is not available. The demonstration helped participants understand the importance of responding quickly and appropriately in a life-threatening situation.
In a joint statement, Captain Jagdish Verma, state president of the United Front of Ex-Servicemen (JCOs and ORs), Himachal Pradesh, and Captain Ashok Kumar Sharma, president of the Sarkaghat unit, expressed gratitude to all ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and family members who participated in the camp.
They also thanked the team of doctors and paramedical staff who travelled from Mohali to conduct the health camp. The organisers expressed their appreciation to the team from the District Sainik Welfare Office, Mandi, for its support in the programme.
Social worker Ramesh Kumar Bhardwaj was also present at the camp. The organisers thanked him for his participation and support.
The organisers said such health camps and awareness programmes are beneficial for ex-servicemen and their families and should be organised regularly to address their healthcare needs and improve awareness about emergency medical procedures.
