Shimla:
The Himachal Government announced a 4% increase in the Dearness Allowance for employees, effective from January 1, 2023. This adjustment will be reflected in the salaries distributed in October. The decision, aimed at supporting employees and pensioners during the festive season, was commended by Dr. Banita Saklani, president of the Himachal Government College Teachers Association (HGCTA).
Dr. Saklani expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, highlighting the government’s commitment to employee welfare. She noted that the increase comes at a critical time of rising inflation and will provide much-needed relief to employees and retirees.
Additionally, Dr. Saklani urged the government to expedite departmental promotions within the education sector and reconsider the salary cuts for staff on study leave. She emphasized that these actions will reinforce employee trust in the government and enhance overall morale among the workforce.
