If Vote Theft Happened, Congress Would Not Be in Power in Himachal: BJP Chief Spokesman Rakesh Jamwal.

BJP chief spokesperson and Sundernagar MLA Rakesh Jamwal hit back at Congress leaders questioning the Election Commission, saying that if “vote theft” had actually taken place, the Congress would not be in power in Himachal Pradesh.
Jamwal said the 2022 Assembly elections were conducted under the supervision of the Election Commission, based on which Congress formed the government and Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu became Chief Minister. He questioned the Congress’s decision to challenge the credibility of the same electoral system after unfavourable political outcomes.
Referring to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Jamwal said Congress should first examine its own strategy, organisation and leadership instead of blaming the poll panel. He pointed out that Kumar became an Election Commissioner on March 15, 2024, and Chief Election Commissioner on February 19, 2025.
Jamwal said the Election Commission is an autonomous constitutional institution responsible for conducting elections and that political parties with grievances should use established constitutional and legal mechanisms.
He also said the Election Commission had held consultations with representatives of national and state parties in 2025.
Jamwal urged Congress to focus on issues concerning governance and public concerns rather than targeting electoral institutions, asserting that the people’s mandate must be respected irrespective of election results.
